Why Texas Roof Pros

Why West Texas Homeowners Call Texas Roof Pros

  • Straight answers on repair vs. replacement

A roof with one wind-torn section rarely needs to be replaced. We explain what we see, show you photos, and tell you when a repair is the smarter money.

  • Built for hail, wind, and sun

Material and installation choices here have to account for South Plains hail, gusty dust storms, and intense UV at elevation — from Class 4 shingle options to proper attic ventilation.

  • We follow the Texas rules

Texas law bars contractors from waiving or absorbing your insurance deductible. We play it straight: written scopes, city permits where required, and no storm-chaser shortcuts.

  • Same-day response

Call between 7 AM and 7 PM, any day of the week, and we work to get back to you the same day — especially after a storm, when a fast tarp can save a ceiling.

  • Local to three West Texas markets

One call line covers Lubbock on the South Plains, Abilene in the Big Country, and Midland in the Permian Basin, so you are talking with people who know the area.

  • No pressure, no gimmicks

No door-knocking, no cash-up-front demands, and no promises we cannot keep. You get a clear explanation of your roof and the time to make your own decision.

Roofing Questions From Lubbock Homeowners

Does Texas Roof Pros work in Abilene and Midland as well as Lubbock?

Yes. Texas Roof Pros serves Lubbock, Abilene, and Midland. Lubbock is our primary market, and the same call line handles all three cities. Call (806) 249-0342 and tell us your address and what is going on with your roof, and we will talk through next steps for your area.

What hours can I call about my roof?

Our line is open 7 AM to 7 PM Central Time, seven days a week, including weekends. If a storm has just come through, calling early in the day gives the best chance of a same-day response. We do not offer overnight service, so for after-hours leaks, protect the interior and call when the line opens.

How do I know whether my roof needs a repair or a full replacement?

A repair usually makes sense when the damage is limited to one area and the rest of the roof still has life left. Replacement makes more sense when damage is widespread, shingles are brittle or bare of granules, or leaks keep coming back. An inspection with photos is the honest way to decide.

Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible in Texas?

No. According to the Texas Department of Insurance, it is illegal in Texas for a contractor to offer to waive, rebate, or absorb a policyholder's deductible. Contracts of $1,000 or more that involve an insurance claim must include a notice that you are responsible for paying the deductible. Treat any such offer as a red flag.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Lubbock?

Yes. The City of Lubbock requires a roofing permit to tear off and replace shingles, lists the residential roofing permit fee at $75, and requires a final inspection once the work is done. A contractor working for a homeowner must also be registered with the City. Abilene and Midland have their own permit offices and rules.

Do impact-resistant shingles lower homeowners insurance in Texas?

They can. The Texas Department of Insurance says roofing that passes the UL 2218 impact test qualifies for a premium discount, with Class 4 earning the highest credit. Each insurance company sets its own discount amount, so ask your agent, and keep the TDI certificate of installation your roofer provides.
